In-Person Courses

The EOL doula class far exceeded my expectations of the class. Dr. Armstrong’s knowledge, ability to present in a comprehensive and understandable manner combined with her compassion and respect for all individuals attending made for an unforgettable experience.

Penny is the most accomplished teacher I have known. Her gentle and caring ability to connect with others is equal to her knowledge, expertise and thorough research on how to walk with the dying to the end of life
— GW
The End-of-Life classes had a profound impact on my understandings about death and how to support the people we love with compassion and guided support. I recommend this course to anyone wanting to know more about how to approach the final stages of life with dignity, deep awareness, and peace.

Dr. Armstrong gave us so much practical information that even if I just used the information for myself personally, it would’ve been worth taking the class. The atmosphere she provided enabled the classmates to bond with love and respect. I don’t know yet how I will use the information but you have provided me with such knowledge that I would feel confident to pursue being an EOL doula.

I was pleased to have had the opportunity to attend the End-of-Life Doula certification program. Changing the culture on how we die and grieve is a daunting endeavor and I am really pleased that our community has folks like Penny Armstrong quietly creating change by teaching caring folks how to serve those who are dying and mourning.
—BMJ
The information was a highly valuable reminder of how everyone could benefit from these teachings and how necessary it is to bring more acceptance and peace surrounding the most vulnerable time in one’s life with tenderness, presence and love.
I recently had the privilege of participating in the end-of-life Doula class with Legacy Passage, and it was truly a transformative experience. The atmosphere was infused with a profound sense of loving energy that enveloped us all. Dr. Armstrong, with her exceptional ability to convey information, created a space that not only informed but...

...also inspired a deeper curiosity within me. I left the class feeling uplifted and eager to explore more. This experience was not just educational; it was a spiritual journey that resonated deeply with my soul. I wholeheartedly recommend this class to anyone seeking both knowledge and a nurturing environment.
—TG
Entering into the world of an EOL Doula is not to be taken lightly. The curriculum is taught with conscious intention. Dr. Armstrong conducts the course with direction and heart. Each "student" is led through a self-discovery allowing them to fully embrace their own Doula heart.

What is the format of the in-person courses? One of the many benefits of in-person classes is to build community with other class members to foster future support and communication groups. The class size is intentionally kept small. We will be following the course syllabus examining each of the topics through multiple lenses of diversity, inclusion, and cultural understandings.
